Assistive Technology (AT)

At ImpAACt, we are passionately dedicated to increasing access and participation through assistive technology. Our comprehensive services encompass facilitating the acquisition of devices and equipment, along with providing extensive training and technical assistance. We are committed to empowering individuals, families, and schools, ensuring their sustained success in various settings such as home, school, or the community.


Funding sources for devices, therapies, and AT/AAC services may differ. We can help you navigate the funding process. 

Assistive Technology (AT) Evaluation

AT evaluations typically focus on identifying solutions to specific tasks, such as reading, writing, or note-taking in the learning environment and/or daily living skills in the home or community. 

This service may include:

  • consultation
  • on-site observation
  • collaborate with device users, students, educators, families, and others to identify and implement appropriate AT devices and services
  • acquisition of technology
  • written report
  • IEP support

Assistive Technology (AT) Consultations

Consultative services provide support to families or educational teams who use assistive technology with their children. This service is catered to your specific needs and often includes education and training on device or program use, recommendations of AT solutions and strategies for implementation, as well as, the development of a plan to support future growth and development.

technical assistance

Technical assistance services can be provided as:

  • training students, educators, families, and others in the use of AT devices
  • coaching
  • configuring devices and software to users' needs and preferences
  • document review (evaluations, IEPs, etc.)
  • attend IEP meetings (in-person or virtual)
